Margo, we are Blondie together. I highlighted my own hair last week end and it is really blonde. It sure isn't highlighted either. I am getting use to it but I am still not nuts over it. I guess I bought the wrong color of highlighter than I did when my niece did it. I really should remember those things I guess. Oh well.......is it true that blonde's have more fun? Not so sure about that one.

Good morning to you, Karen and my OFF family. I hope that today is good to all of you.

It is sunny here and the temp is 34* with a wind chill of 29*. Not bad but not as good as yesterday. It was well into the 40's by this time yesterday morning. But then again it isn't going to be as warm today. I guess I have to realize that it is still winter. Most of the snow is gone and I hope we get none to replace it. I had my fair share of the terrible white stuff. There is still some high plowed snow spots but for the most part it is gone.

Bill and I was so busy yesterday. We went to Valparaiso and did a bit of shopping and we went to lunch. He actually suggested Chinese and that is unusual for Bill. I think he was trying to cheer me up. He knew that I have been down for a couple of days. I guess when you are at the bottom of the barrel anything will cheer you up. It did but I still had my moments. Oh well, I am sure that better things are on the way~it is just waiting on them to get here. I sure hope that they don't get lost on the way to my house.

Misty has been running all over the house this morning. She is so easily occupied~that is what I like about the cats~they play amongst themselves. She is now resting on the dining room chair. She is all stretched out and just looking out the patio door. You can tell she is tired~she is getting older just like the rest of us. She will soon be 7 and I guess that must be called a senior now. I am not so sure with cats. They do live for such a long time. I know that my sister's cat is going to be 20 in a couple of months. Carolyn has had Patches since she was about 3 months old. She was a wild cat and lived in the woods by my cousin's house. It didn't take her long to settle down and she has been a sweetie her whole life. I dearly love her.

I better get going. I am not going to church this morning. I just can't walk to well today. I know it is all the walking I did yesterday. I am going to stay quiet today or by tomorrow it is going to be worse. I have to go with Bill in the morning to get his eyes checked and new glasses. So I have to be able to walk. It would come in handy.  I still weigh to much for Bill to carry me! Have a wonderful Sunday and stay happy. I am sending love and hugs to all and prayers/special thoughts go out to everyone.

Good morning Karen and all you other OFFers.

Didn't check the board out yesterday.  Sorry.  Saturdays are a busy day for me.  At least I try to be.

Friday we went to the Stars game and watched the Stars win 10-2.  Wow!  What an onslaught!  They were having a clearance sale on several shirts.  Mary and I both got practice jerseys normally $50 for $30.  Two TShirts for $5 each.  Then got some shirts for a couple of the grandkids for $5 each.  Lastly, I found a golf shirt normally $45 for $20.

Yesterday, I went to work.  After work Mary and I went to the Ballpark so she could get her volunteer ID made.  I went to the gift shop and found a Kameron Loe jersey for Mary.  He is her favorite player (now plays in Japan).  He threw her a ball when she was in the wheelchair a few years ago.  Also got her and I TShirts (Kam Loe for her, Chris Davis for me).  Spent $50 total.

Then went to Red Hot and Blue for ribs.  Good special going on. Slab of ribs and 4 sides for $20.  Makes two meals for the two of us.

Home to lay around.  Took a nap.  Then played internet poker during the night.  Had a pretty good night.  Even if it was play money.

Watched a bunch of shows on my DVR to clear up some space.

Hope you all have a good day.  See you tonight from work.

GOD BLESS AMERICA!!!!!

Good Morning All

I'm here twice in 2 days!  That must be a record.  I got up a few minutes ago and am inhaling my first cup of coffee.  Thought I'd check in.

Karen, I have to tell you I'm so jealous of your time with the babies!  My grandson is so far away, and I only get to see him a few times a year.  I'm headed there the end of this month for 5 days, and my kids are great about letting me do whatever I want while I'm there.  I usually keep him out of daycare and we play.  Will probably only do that for one of the days, as he really does exhaust me.  He never stops moving, and he wants me to be involved in everything he does.  I love it, but his naps aren't long enough for me.

One of the days I'll spend with my niece, who'll be coming from her home about 3 hours away for the day.  I told her to line up the thrift shops!!!  I won't be able to buy much, or I'll have to pay extra for the luggage on the plane.  That's a pain, but it does force me to pack lightly.

I got the laundry and ironing done yesterday, made a big pan of stuffed cabbage rolls, and froze most of them.  My freezer is filled with meal-sized portions of some of my favorite foods, but I'm still having trouble keeping my eating in line.  I'd heard the 2-3 year mark was where some of the problems came back, and here I am!  I'm struggling, but still haven't lost those extra pounds from last Fall and the holidays.  Haven't gained any more, but haven't lost.  I'd heard that the old habits came back if you let them, but I'd hoped that problem would skip me.  Nope!  I can't wait till the weather gets better.  Working outside keeps me sane and busy, and I don't tend to graze as much.  I also drink my liquids better.  In the winter, I want the warm stuff, and that's mostly coffee.  Not good, I know, but it is what it is.  I'm working on it.

Today I'm tackling the basement.  Going to do some major organizing, clean up the kitties' litter box areas, and pack up some more stuff for Salvation Army.  I have a few nicer things I'd like to offer on Freecycle, but not sure how to go about that.  I'll get them together and figure it out.

If I get done with half of what I plan, it'll be a successful day.

I hope everyone has a great day!

Candy
